Carlin-type gold property located at the confluence of the prolific Getchell and Battle Mountain – Eureka Trends.
The property is considered prospective for the identification of additional near-surface gold mineralization within Havallah Sequence rocks, as well as for Carlin-type replacement style gold mineralization within lower plate Edna Mountain Formation and Antler Peak Limestone units located below the Golconda thrust fault.
The property is hosted in a series of lithotectonic units of diverse lithologies which have been transported eastward to their present location along three major thrust faults: Roberts Mountain, Iron Point and Golconda. The stratigraphic sections within the property include the Cambrian Preble, Pennsylvanian-Permian Antler Peak Limestone, and Permian Edna Mountain Formations, which are structurally capped by the Pennsylvanian-Permian Havallah Sequence.
Previous work focused on surface gold anomalies found within the structurally superimposed overlying Havallah Sequence rocks. Trenching of these anomalies returned multiple intercepts of high-grade zones. Previous drilling was relatively shallow, and drilling results returned up to 10.7m of 3.1g/t Au.
Epithermal-style alteration is found along high-angle, northerly-trending faults and along the base of the Iron Point thrust fault where the Antler Peak Limestone has been silicified and iron oxide-stained.
The target model for the project is based on the presence of untested lithologically favorable stratigraphic horizons which could host gold mineralization introduced along high-angle structures, including:
